Santo Stefano is a church in Assisi, central Italy. The building, in Romanesque style, was erected between the 12th and the 13th century and feature simple lines. Like other churches in the town, the façade and the walls were left without decorations. The interior, which has maintained much of the original medieval appearance, has a single nave with Gothic arches, small windows and a wooden ceiling. There are remains of frescoes from the 15th-16th centuries on the walls, depicting the ''Madonna with Saints'' and a ''Crucifixion''. According to the Franciscan tradition, the bells of Santo Stefano rang spontaneously during St. Francis' agony and death. ==Sources== * * 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Santo Stefano (Assisi)」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
